Hey I’m back!

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged on here and honestly, I’m excited to be picking it back up again.  It’s been fun going through some of my old posts and seeing just how much has changed in what has relatively been a short amount of time.

One of the many things I will be changing as I pick up blogging again is the domain on which this blog is hosted.  Since I tend to blog more about technology and generally things going on in my life, I will be moving this site from https://steve.sawczyn.com to https://steves.life .  Not only is steves.life an actual domain, but it’s way easier to spell than steve.sawczyn.com . :). According to the “easy-to-follow” instructions I have, moving my blog should really be no trouble at all and I should expect to be up and running in no time at all.  I’m rather dubious, but will be sure to post as soon as everything is transferred and properly set up.  If you receive Email notifications of new posts, I’m told that you will not need to resubscribe, everything is supposedly going to transfer, and this being web-based technology, what could possibly go wrong?

I’m excited to be blogging again and am looking forward to re-engaging with all of you, especially those who have been wondering, “whatever happened to Steve?”

Don’t tarry gathering your stuff. I lost 6 years of (on and off) nature writing when the domain owner turned the site over to someone else and they shut it down. I can’t recreate it, they were daily observations from the woods and fields here as well as some writing about other natural experiences in Maine.

Steve, that is horrible, nobody backed up all the stuff on the domain before they got rid of it? one of the reasons I’m getting fired up about WordPress again — and blogging in general — is because I want to have control over my content. The other social networks are great for what they are, but a change in policy or accessibility could mean I’m locked out of my own content. Let me know if ever you want to get back into blogging again and I’ll gladly help you get things set up in such a way that you maintain control over your writing. And of course if someone did manage to back up that other domain, let me know if I can help extracting/restoring content from that backup.

Oh my gosh, Chet, it’s been a while. So very awesome to hear from you, I’m so glad you’re still reading this blog. Very wonderful stuff. We should catch up sometime, do you still have my Email address?

Hey Chet, it’s great to hear from you — it’s been too long. Do you still have my Email address? If so, would love to reconnect and catch up. Sorry if you’re getting this comment twice, I tried to reply earlier, but don’t think it posted.

If you think going back through your old posts was fun, you should try going back through mine. It’s been interesting since there’s 20 years worth of content. I’m in the process of grabbing all my content from various places so it stays in context, and yeah, it’s been very educational to see how much I’ve changed even in the last 10 or even 5 years. Looking forward to reading, and I’ll comment here instead of on MB now that I’ve realized your comments weren’t coming back to here so you probably weren’t getting notifications. I can talk to you sometime next week if you want, my email is amanda@customerservant.com and if you email me some times that work for you I can help with all this.

Hey there, yes I did get your comments because I saw them on the MB feed. But I like your idea of gathering everything into one place, that’s my goal ultimately. I’ll definitely drop you an email as would love your help and advice. #YouRock.
