Recording conditions are far from optimal, but in this very impressive
demo, the PERL is used to recognize the page of a paperback book. The
book is not lined up with the PERL’s guide and the light was off on
the Perl’s camera, a great simulation of scanning conditions
especially when needing to scan in a hurry. If nothing else, the
speed between when the picture is taken and the speech begins reading
is beyond impressive. Steve
