• This morning it was 45 degrees with a gentle rain, almost perfect for this time of year. Now it’s 21 headed for 0 and all that rain has frozen into a solid sheet of ice which is now getting covered with blowing snow. What a mess.

  • I realize errors like “Unable to access Fitness+ at this time” are inevitable, but do they have to happen when I’m 22 minutes into a 30 minute workout? Ugg.

  • I am now officially on vacation through the end of the year. I can’t describe the feeling of joy that came over me as I closed the lid of my work laptop; what a year this has been. Excited to begin working on a number of personal projects that I’ve put off for way way too long.

  • I have to explore it more as I know there’s a lot of accessibility built in, but I suspect Apple Maps is way more powerful than I realize.

  • Can I use Apple's new MagSafe to attach an iPhone to my fridge? Yes, yes I can.

I was curious if I could use Apple’s MagSafe technology to attach an iPhone to my fridge and apparently I can. I’m not sure how posting a YouTube video to WordPress works, so hope this comes through.

  • Mac users: do you have a favorite utility, or suite of utilities for cleaning your Mac? Optimizing storage/clearing caches, that sort of thing.

  • So far the most exciting thing in my day has been an Email from Doordash telling me that if I order Dunkin, I can get a free bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. What exciting things are happening in your day?

  • I’ve been diving into the Apple HomeKit ecosystem and really love my August smart lock, but boy howdy was it a pain to get correctly configured with multiple users. Intuitive would not be a good descriptor for this thing.

  • Since I’m trying to switch back to Apple Music, I thought I’d subscribe to iTunes Match and try to match my existing music collection. Now what I have is one heck of a mess with some albums partially matched, others waiting to be uploaded, other stuff from Apple Music that’s not matched anywhere at all… No idea how to clean this up.

  • Wow, when did iOS Reminders get so awesome? I’ve always overlooked Apple’s Reminders app because I never considered it very feature-rich. Apparently while I was overlooking it, it got smart in a very big way. support.apple.com/en-us/HT2…

  • Definitely worried about all the talk concerning civil unrest after this election day. A big part of me hopes that it’ll be like y2k: a lot of worry and hype that comes to nothing. Here’s hoping anyway.

  • Texting, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, Telegram, Signal, Threema, and you know, I still miss AOL Instant Messenger. I think the native accessible desktop client is what I miss the most.

  • Happy Monday everyone. So, who else hyped themselves up for the week ahead by dancing around their kitchen to Jan & Dean songs? … Anyone? Anyone at all?

  • Just filled something out that asked me how many people I’ve been in direct contact with at work. ““Direct contact” means: a conversation lasting more than 5 minutes with a person who is closer than 6 feet away from you, or physical contact like hand-shaking, hugging, or kissing.” OK I get some of this, but hugging and kissing … kind of wondering what type of work they think I do? Lol.

  • Our first snowfall of the season. Thanks to Gabby for helping me with this.

  • Just had one of those phone systems that can call you back rather than have you wait on hold. Recording said, “feel free to hang up and go about your business.” Lol I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before.

  • Later today, I’m seeing a hearing specialist as my hearing has gotten worse over time. I’m all kinds of nervous about this, so want to gather as much info as possible on hearing-aids and accessibility. Would appreciate any thoughts/advice.

  • As I’m really hungry, I figured I’d quickly microwave a bowl of oatmeal. Fun fact: if you microwave a bowl of oatmeal and forget to add milk or water, it does not come out so good. #GrowingAndLearning

  • I have never tried this, but everyone raves about it.

  • New iOS14 image recognition is great for accessibility, but "contains adult content" seems misleading

One of the new cool accessibility features coming in iOS14 is enhanced image recognition. From what I’ve seen, the descriptions are really good so I’m excited. But sometimes, an image is described as “possible adult content” and I have no idea why. I mean these are images that, well, um, let’s just say they do not contain “adult content” as I understand the meaning. I really hope Apple will provide additional detail around what triggers this because otherwise, people may get a very wrong impression indeed.

  • Randy Rainbow is fast becoming my favorite YouTuber. youtu.be/lUiDLcp_h…

  • Lake Nokomis. My first time kayaking. Had lots of fun and am excited to try it again.

  • Microsoft has a little gem in Windows 10 called Quick Assist, who knew? Not sure that this will be accessible unless it redirects remote audio, but still a very neat, and free option worth knowing about.
